Richland Micro Drainage Can Help!

Who We Are...

Drawing from years of study, we combine drainage solutions with soil biology concepts in order to help customers achieve the best crop yield possible. Our micro drainage concepts paired with proven soil health strategies equals a winning formula for increased performance. For many of our potential customers, it is not practical for them to purchase their own equipment in order to install their own drainage system. This is where our contractors come in. As a company, it is our goal to train numerous contractors from all over in our concepts. This allows us to extend our services to more customers in more locations, and in turn allows you to start a successful business of your own as a drainage installation contractor.

How We Accomplish This

Surface Drainage

If you become a contractor for Richland Micro Drainage Concepts, we will provide the training necessary for you to start your own drainage installation company. This is an opportunity for you to take advantage of this proven business model at the ground level. We know which equipment and products integrate well, and you will have the equipment, products and expertise available to you in order to build a successful business. We are working to create a network of like-minded people to discuss successes, new ideas, struggles, and equipment.

THE MICRO DRAINAGE CONCEPT IS BETTER

The Micro Drainage System is a sub-surface drainage solution and uses pipe drains installed beneath the ground surface to collect and convey excess water. Our method of drainage is successful because of 3 main things:

  1. Narrow pipe – Narrow 2” diameter pipe is less likely to become clogged by silt because of more velocity, is less expensive to purchase, and is easier to install. Shallow depth – The pipe is installed at a shallow depth, typically about 24” down. This greatly reduces the disturbance of the nutrients in the soil. It also allows for quicker drainage in a shorter time frame as the water intercepts the tile at much higher rates.
  2. Closer lateral spacing – By keeping the rows spaced 15-20’ across, this increases drainage capability. This means that crops located in the middle of the drainage rows are less likely to be lost due to long periods of over-saturation, which is a problem which occurs with wider spacing distances.

These factors combined with the state-of-the-art equipment that we use is not only beneficial to the customer and the land, but to the contractor as well.

  • Faster installation times due to small size and shallow depth of installation
  • Our pipe is lighter and easier to move
  • Greater maneuverability & easier to handle equipment
  • Dozer-mounted options
  • Easier, faster topographical layout
  • Greater accuracy, faster adjustments
